🏆 SHWA 2026 – Young Researcher Award
(Under 35 Competition)
Call for Participation
Within the framework of the IX International Conference “SHWA 2026 – Safety, Health and Welfare in Agriculture & Agro-Food Systems” (14–16 September 2026, Rome and Viterbo, Italy), the Organising Committee is pleased to announce the Young Researcher Award, dedicated to promoting excellence among early-career scientists.
- Purpose of the Award
The Award aims to:
- encourage the active participation of young researchers in the field of agricultural and forestry safety, health, and welfare;
- recognise outstanding scientific contributions presented at SHWA 2026;
- support the professional development of early-career scholars.
- Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- be under 35 years of age on the opening day of the Conference (14 September 2026);
- be the presenting author of an accepted abstract at SHWA 2026;
- personally deliver the oral presentation during the Conference.
Proof of age may be requested by the Organising Committee.
- Evaluation Criteria
The Award will be assigned based on the quality of the oral presentation delivered during the Conference.
Presentations will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
- scientific originality and relevance of the research;
- methodological rigour;
- contribution to advancing knowledge in safety, health, and welfare in agriculture and agro-food systems;
- clarity, structure, and effectiveness of the presentation;
- ability to respond to questions and engage with the audience.
- Jury
The Jury will be composed of members of the SHWA 2026 Scientific Committee who are present at the Conference.
The Jury’s decision will be final.
- Prizes
The Award will recognise the three highest-ranked young researchers:
🥇 First Prize – Diploma of Merit
🥈 Second Prize – Diploma of Merit
🥉 Third Prize – Diploma of Merit
In addition, the three awardees will be granted:
- One-year free membership to the Italian Association of Agricultural Engineering (AIIA) – Section V.
The awards will be presented during the official closing session of SHWA 2026.
- How to Participate
Eligible young researchers will automatically be considered for the Award upon abstract acceptance and confirmation of their presentation.
No separate application is required.
